Build Another Highway
02:36
|
|||
We see the evening news and wonder why potatoes are wearing suits
And making all the wrong decisions for the country without truths
And we’re spending all our money on the P.M’s holiday, now there’s the truth
And you bozos with the bulldozers, how does it feel to egg along the flame?
What a shame, what a shame.
You’re gonna build another highway and ruin all we know
You sure don’t see it our way but you could give it a go, give it a go
Plan a shopping complex to take up all the land
It really ain’t that complex to just leave it alone, leave it alone
Leave it alone, leave it alone.
“Now I’d equate that you would save aroundabouts, oh I don’t know? A million dollars if you didn’t buy another fucking lane”.
Of course, but where would all that money go? It’s sure as shit not going to the poor
What a shame.
You’re gonna build another highway and ruin all we know
You sure don’t see it our way but you could give it a go, give it a go
Plan a shopping complex to take up all the land
It really ain’t that complex to just leave it alone, leave it alone
Leave it alone, leave it alone.

When I Walk
02:46
|
|||
I don’t have the patients to talk to you anymore
Although it seems you’ve found the right man to talk to well you’re wrong
I’ll find peace of mind, when I walk.
They don’t have the patients to talk to me anymore
I think it’s time I found a better place for my words, my words
They’ll find peace of mind, when I walk.
I’ll find peace of mind, when I walk
When they walk, when I.

Boa
04:45
|
|||
Boa wrap me up in knots, close my eyes three dreams
Sigh at the night and gasp for air, await the moment that I’m free
Pessimism’s pesticide has yet to be found, boa hangs from a tree and casts a noose
I tend to run the other way.
Leads me up and leads me down, bites away without a sound
Slowly swallowing me whole, if I’m being honest.
Doubting my skills is way easier than not
Obsession drags the best and worst out from this heart
I long to talk, to speak, to say what’s on my mind
Control, resolve, it’s all the same to me tonight.
Leads me up and leads me down, bites away without a sound
Slowly swallowing me whole, if I’m being honest.
My shoulder hosts a humming bird, the song it sings is mine
The colours awe and tries to hide the fact that snakes eat little birds too.
Leads us up and leads us down, bites away without a sound
Slowly swallowing me whole, if I’m being honest
Boa.

I Swear
02:51
|
|||
Colour me confused, I am so so sorry you can’t be
Tiptoe over eggshells, does it matter who is right?
Who knows.
I swear that everyone’s alive
I wish you’d share a slice once or twice.
It’s time to flip the mattress cause it’s all worn out but never thrown
I won’t persist to argue, it is not constructive man, oh man.
I swear that everyone’s alive
Just take the whole damn pie!
Unconditional means I love you none the less
But I’ll stand to prove my point.
I swear that everyone’s alive
You’ve hidden it and lied.
Coming home at night and finding things to not say first, whose worse?
Can’t we just play nice? I find your humor more sincere
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh.

The Hopeless Invention
04:39
|
|||
Gadgets, a house full, one coffee pot
It’s broken now from years and years of being used a lot
The professor, his angled face has surely lost the race
To never age a day, unlike his dear old dad
But he’s working so hard just to prove all his reasons
Building away for a better tomorrow.
He’s a local attraction at the ‘Bits n Bobs’ store
They adore his persistence but only as a means to mock him
But he’s finally designed and built something worth everything
Today is the test trial but something seems wrong.
“My hopeless invention has hit the ground, she won’t fly, she’ll never fly” he screams.
Again and again and again he tries, blisters to bruises
A scar on the shoulder reminds of the atlas, ambition is not without heart
The motor it starts.
“Will she fly? She might fly? I will fly”.
